Using Positive Reinforcement methods
During Basic Obedience Session you & your dog will learn:
- Loose Leash Walking
- Stay
- Sit
- Sit stay
- Come
- Down
- Down Stay
- Auto Sit
This as well as the Advanced Obedience is interchangeable depending on the goals and expectations of each individual student. This is the advantage of private lessons, I can work with you individually to fit your needs versus a set class lesson.
During the training of the Basic Obedience they will also learn an array of vocabulary or Commands. I think some commands are very important to the raising and living with dogs. By using the commands I include in my Private Lessons this will help you establish yourself as the pack leader along with having to control over your dog you've always wanted.
Some examples of these helpful commands are: "free", "Home" or "Bed", "leave it", "off", "wait"
How the private lesson works
You and your dog will meet with me weekly in your home. I will instruct you what the lesson plan is, show you an example with your own dog, then have you repeat the training with your dog. I will go over things with you to improve on and help you perfect your training methods. I will then give you homework to work on during the week until our next training session. During the next session I will ask you to show me how you and your dog are coming along with the first lesson. I will then help you if you are making any mistakes and have you work on it. I will then also start you on the next phase of the training and give you homework for the coming week. Training can last anywhere from 4-8 weeks depending on the learning rate of you and your dog.
